Dr.
Richard Reierson, the owner of the clinic, truly enjoys general
practice, as well as long-time interests in surgery, dentistry, reproduction, and
dermatology. Sporting dogs and their needs have been a particular
favorite of his. When his son brought home a very unusual guest for
Thanksgiving vacation, a snake, he decided to pursue reptile medicine.
Dr. Reierson's father, a dentist, provided the inspiration for
his son's ongoing education in advanced veterinary dentistry. A
graduate of the University of Minnesota Veterinary School in 1971, Dr.
Reierson also interned for one year at Colorado State University in
small animal surgery and medicine. In 1976, he established Elm Creek
Animal Hospital. He has served on the national council of the American
Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), state committees of the Minnesota
Veterinary Medical Association (MVMA), as well as local boards of the
Affiliated Emergency Veterinary Service (AEVS), and the Animal Humane
Society (AHS). He is owned by a chocolate Labrador named Dixie.

A
lifelong resident of the Twin Cities, Dr. Brett Duke has two Border
Collies and an Airedale Terrier that he and his fiance train in agility and obedience. Dr. Duke has special
interests in canine reproduction, surgery, and sports medicine. Due in part to his
background in dog training, Dr. Duke also likes to study and apply the
intricacies of behavior modification. He graduated in 1996 from the
University of Minnesota School of Veterinary Medicine and has been
practicing at Elm Creek since that time. In addition to working with
more traditional canines and felines, he enjoys the challenges that
small mammals such as ferrets, guinea pigs, rabbits, and rodents
present.

Although
she has enjoyed animals her entire life, Dr. Rhonda Ganske foresaw her
future veterinary career while working as a costumed chipmunk for a
major theme park. Since that pivotal moment, she has worked in an
educational position at the Rio Grande Zoo in New Mexico as well as at
various small animal clinics. She graduated from the University of
Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in the spring of 2002, and joined the staff of Elm Creek Animal Hospital soon after. When pressed
to identify a favorite aspect of veterinary medicine, Dr. Ganske has
some trouble because she loves it all! However, she especially enjoys
employing the diagnostic imaging tool of ultrasound. Although at one time her home included 2 horses, 4 dogs, 2 cats, and fish, she currently has just one sweet torti tabby cat named Cole.

Dr. Kaner is a 1990 graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She joined Elm Creek Animal Hospital in the spring of 2006. She enjoys seeing a wide variety of pets from cats and dogs, guinea pigs and rabbits, to birds and even the occasional chicken! Dr. Kaner is passionate about behavior issues in dogs and cats, and has done behavior counseling for the last 10 years. Currently, she is a part-time apprentice to a veterinary radiologist honing her ultrasound skills. She currently cares for a 14-year-old Golden Retriever (Bubba) and 3 cats (Sammi, Shadow, and Punkin). Her menagerie has included rabbits, guinea pigs, parakeets, and cockatiels as well as dogs and cats. Since Dr. Kaner went to vet school in Wisconsin, unfortunately, she is proud to be a Packer and Badgers fan (her children cheer for the Vikings, however!)
